Originally conceived as a 250 GT Coupe, this Ferrari was delivered new to a Swiss customer through Garage de Montchoisy from Geneva. Well used, it had already racked up close to 55,000 km by November of 1964. Shortly thereafter, it was involved in an accident. The car was shipped back to Italy where the chassis was repaired and shortened by Vaccari e Bosi SRL, which was one of the companies used by Ferrari to construct their frames. The rolling chassis was then sent to Carrozzeria Drogo where it was fitted with a brand new coupe body. Finished in 1966, the Drogo Coupe was then sold to a Frenchman living in Spain. Following spells in Switzerland and Italy, it was back in Spain by the early 1990s. Subsequently owned by David Morrison and Rudolfo Junco de la Vega, it was acquired by a Belgian historic racer during the late 2010s. He raced the car at select events before consigning it to the 2024 Bonhams Grandes Marques a Monaco sale.
